HADA is named 'Best Antiques'

Capital Region Living Magazine has named Hudson Antiques Dealers Association a 'Best of the Capital Region' for Antiques in the Shopping category.

The magazine says: "When you’re in the mood for antiques, you don’t just head to one store - you take a trip to Hudson in Columbia County and hit up the many antique shops, art studios and vintage shops, where knick knacks, furniture, and accessories abound, making it nearly impossible to peak into every nook and cranny in just one day. No worries, because it’s so close a return visit is a must!"

Thanks, CRL!

The Barlow featured in Rural Intelligence

HADA member, The Barlow received wonderful accolades in a post today on the online culture-and-lifestyle magazine, Rural Intelligence.

The Barlow writes, "Jamie Larson, one of the sites writers spent some time with us at the Hotel asking questions ranging from our professional backgrounds to how we got to Hudson to why we decided to open a hotel. We tried to convey, and he clearly understood, our belief that Hudson will continue to grow and draw visitors here and continue to be a focal point of the Hudson Valley."

"In the short time The Barlow has been open we’ve welcomed hundreds of guests that have just discovered this city and all the outstanding dining, entertainment, shopping and cultural opportunities that Hudson offers. We recognize this and understand that The Barlow will play an important role in providing additional lodging to new visitors, who in turn will spend time in town taking advantage of Hudson’s “bounty” which will benefit the entire business community."

A Visit from Vintage Vandalizm

Jasmin Rodriguez, of the blog Vintage Vandalizm, a style blog dedicated to 1940, ’50s, and ’60s pinup culture, recently visited Hudson's antique shops and shared the trip with her readers:

“I wish I could relive this day over and over with the fun I had. Hudson is a beautiful place full of history that has been greatly preserved. There was magic on every single corner and the houses and buildings were works of art. We visited all of the vintage and antique shops and boy did I find some treasure! Finally; a place just a bus ride away, that has wonderful and affordable vintage and antiques. It is when you travel beyond the overpriced vintage of Manhattan that you discover much better pieces that won’t burn holes in your pockets. I also really loved the characters I met there, many of the shop owners were such fun and fabulous people.”
