Carole Hallé at Roshkowska Galleries

Carole Hallé Exhibition
Wood and Graphite

September 5 – October 5 2015
Opening Reception: September 5, 2015 5-7 pm

Hudson, NY: Roshkowska Galleries presents the first solo exhibition of French born, New York based artist Carole Hallé. The exhibition will include a collection of her woodcarvings as well as several of her large drawings.

Visual artist and musician Mark Safan writes about her work: “I have observed her singular vision to articulate the sensual forms that are so strikingly hers. What is notable in the large scale drawings is the process that brings them into being; an intuitive and experiential groping, exploring, defining, a total involvement that finally envelops the viewer. The large sculptural forms seem to have no beginning and no end. It is not the reality of the forms per se that is the subject but rather the persistent need to assert them. Interestingly, in her professional life, Carole has worked with architects to reproduce lost or damaged architectural elements. This is painstaking and exacting work. There is no room for error. This tendency, the need to get it right, can also be seen in her artwork. It is the combination of these dual approaches, intuitive and reality based, that gives her work a unique presence.”

Come and join us Saturday September 5th for the opening reception of Ms Hallé’s recent works and discuss her unique process and technique at our gallery in Hudson, New York.
