Sutter Antiques


Alfons Sutter was born in Swilletzerland. He opened his first store in London at the prestegious Kings Road Market in 1973. In 1976 he opened Sutter Antiques in New York City where he dealt in Oriental furniture and objects. In 1991 he moved his business to Hudson New York located in the historic Hudson River Vally, after falling in love with the region. Sutter Antiques has located itself on Warren street in downtown Hudson since that time. Alfons currently deals in Biedermeir, Empire and Art Deco furniture. He also has a vast collection of decoritive objects and lighting that exemplify his eye for beauty and style. Sutter Antiques has been mentioned in publications such as Elle Decor and House Beautiful. In April of 2002,Architectural Digest listed Sutter Antiques as one of the top 100 sources for interior designers.

In Memoriam


1st Dibs, which hosts online shops for about a dozen of Hudson’s antiques dealers, published a moving tribute this week to Jaroslaw (Jarek) Barglowski—the co-founder of Skalar Modern, who passed away this Fall.
